The Critical Nordic Symposium for Geography

For more than 20 years critical geographers in Scandinavia has been fighting for social change aimed at dismantling prevalent systems of capitalist exploitation; oppression on the basis of gender, race and sexual preference; imperialism, neo-liberalism, national aggression and environmental destruction. Today, the world - maybe more than ever - needs our critical thoughts and transformative actions. This year the Critical Nordic Symposium for Geography, is organized as a stream of sessions within the framework of NGM. A list of the session follows below:

- Activist planning: towards a post-neoliberal future
- Being critical in a post 9-11 era: New claims
to theory and methods within geography?
- From global politics to everyday cultural practice
- Geographies of transgression
- Island gentrification
- New urban imperialism
- Social perspectives on mobility
- The Future(s) of Critical Geography
   (roundtable discussion)
